Egmatic

Idea to published 2D game. No code. No backend.

In their words

Egmatic is a no-code editor for 2D games, built for solo developers and small teams who want to ship, not just prototype. Game logic is assembled in a visual node editor, scenes are built with drag and drop, and real-time preview gives instant feedback without a build step. One project exports to Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS and Web — publishing is not a second project of its own.

Projects are stored as clean, versioned JSON contracts over a separate runtime on .NET 9 and MonoGame, so a finished game never gets locked inside its editor: the data is readable, diffable in version control, and portable to other tooling.

The roadmap follows the same goal: player accounts, cloud saves and leaderboards, with no backend to write or host. AI assistance inside the editor is planned, and the JSON-first architecture is designed for it. During early access Egmatic is completely free.

What is Egmatic?

Visual logic and scene building without code

Game mechanics come together in a visual node editor where behaviors connect directly without writing code. Solo developers and small teams build game worlds inside a drag and drop scene editor, placing objects and setting up physics. Real-time preview allows immediate testing of game changes without waiting for build steps, giving instant feedback during development.

Clean JSON contracts and cross-platform publishing

Projects are stored as versioned JSON contracts running on a separate runtime powered by .NET 9 and MonoGame. Finished games remain portable and diffable in version control rather than getting locked inside the editor environment. A single project exports directly to Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS, and Web without requiring separate per-platform setups or additional publishing workflows.

Early access participation

During early access, Egmatic is completely free for all users. The roadmap includes player accounts, cloud saves, and leaderboards built directly into the ship layer, eliminating backend setup for developers.
