chordgen

Keys, modes, tempos, and musical styles generate playable chord sequences with built-in audio preview on chordgen. Musicians select from roots like C or D flat, switch between major and minor modes, and apply styles such as pop, rock, jazz, blues, lo-fi, romantic, or sad. The generator creates four or eight chord sequences at 100 beats per minute, displaying individual chord notes, Roman numerals, and note compositions for every tile.

Controls and MIDI export

Users audition single chords by tapping clips, or play the entire arrangement with built-in playback controls. Locking specific chords preserves them during subsequent generations while randomizing the remaining slots. Alternative progressions offer nearby paths through the same key for quick swapping. Once a progression is set, the studio copies the text names or exports a standard MIDI file. The export routes all lowest notes to a separate bass track while keeping timing intact for transfer into external music software.

Theory references and custom edits

Every chord tile displays exact note breakdowns to guide pianists and guitarists. A reference list shows the seven native chords of the active key for manual swapping. Users change individual chord durations from half a beat up to eight beats, or rely on the optional AI Composer to generate ideas from text descriptions without requiring a user account.
