What is Flan?

Visualizing long-term net worth and upcoming cash flow instead of tracking past receipts helps individuals and partners map out their monetary decisions. Flan operates on a projection-first model, letting users build timelines that account for future events rather than summarizing historical spending.

Adding numbers and future milestones

Getting started requires entering regular income, fixed bills, existing savings balances, and current debt figures into simple tables. Beyond regular expenses, users place major upcoming life changes directly onto the timeline on the exact date they occur. This includes expected pay raises, career pivots, home purchases, weddings, or car acquisitions. Cash flow projections update automatically to show how these choices interact with standard monthly obligations over time.

Solo boards and shared timelines

Budgets can be managed entirely on an individual basis or shared with a partner or collaborator. Shared projections give both participants view or edit permissions on the same set of numbers, keeping two incomes aligned on a single scoreboard without forcing people to merge separate bank accounts. The free tier supports two saved projections, ten table rows, and one-year views. Upgrading to the Flan Plan unlocks thirty-year timelines, shared access, and unlimited scenario modeling across web browsers and iOS devices.
