Images go directly into browser memory for conversion, compression, and resizing without leaving the user device. ihateimg.cv processes formats such as HEIC, WebP, AVIF, PNG, JPG, BMP, and TIFF entirely client-side using Canvas, OffscreenCanvas, and Web Workers. Because files never travel to an external server, no backend file size limits or upload queues apply to batch jobs.

Formats and compression controls

Files convert between modern and legacy formats, including HEIC photos from iPhones turning into universally readable JPGs, or images transforming into AVIF files. Compression tools reduce file weight by up to eighty percent, allowing users to drop in a hundred files at once, adjust quality sliders with live previews, or hit specific file size targets such as twenty kilobytes or fifty kilobytes on the first try. Additional utilities handle multi-image PDF creation, data URI string generation for CSS or HTML insertion, and format changes where transparent areas fill with white instead of black.

Layout, privacy, and developer utilities

Beyond basic conversions, the suite provides precise resizing by pixel counts, percentage scales, physical centimeters or millimeters with controlled DPI, and bulk cropping across whole folders. Privacy controls read and strip hidden EXIF camera data, GPS coordinates, and timestamps, alongside tools to blur faces or black out sensitive regions. Developer functions build favicon sets, iOS and Android app icon collections from a single square file, twelve hundred by six hundred thirty pixel social preview cards, color palettes, and SVG markup optimization. Exam form utilities also merge photos and signatures into exact byte size windows required by specific portals.
