By converting JPEG, PNG, or WebP files up to 25 megabytes into lettered charts, the software ensures that makers have a clear, physical blueprint to sit beside their yarn rather than relying on on-screen screenshots.

How the Application Operates

The platform processes images locally within the user's browser tab, ensuring that nothing is uploaded automatically. Users choose how many stitches go across, ranging from 16 to 120, while rows automatically follow the picture's proportions. Yarn colours can be capped between 2 and 12, utilising median cut processing where colour boxes split along their widest side to maintain consistent palettes without randomness. The tool also provides an optional AI draft feature to suggest editable chart controls based on user descriptions, though this requires explicit submission of a reduced 512-pixel JPEG preview. Crafters can repaint individual squares, swap palette colours to match physical yarn they already own, and save their progress as a PNG sheet or a one-page PDF complete with a lettered legend.

Practical Application and Limitations

This utility is intended for individual crafters and makers looking to create custom crochet graphs from their own photos. It is best reached for when a project requires a quick, browser-based conversion without complex setup or mandatory cloud storage.
