About Templates & Kits tools

Some products are files rather than services. A set of spreadsheet templates, a UI kit, a store theme, a pack of sales scripts or a resume kit: you pay once, download it, and it becomes part of your own work. There is no dashboard to log into and no subscription to cancel.

This category covers templates for documents, spreadsheets and workspaces, UI kits and themes, and script, prompt and document packs written for a specific job. Starter code that developers build on sits in Developer Tools; design systems and component libraries often fit Design.

A pack is only as good as its fit. Before buying, the questions that matter are practical: can you see inside it first, what format does it come in, what does the licence let you do, and will it be updated when the tool it depends on changes.

What to look for

A real look inside

Screenshots of every page, a sample file, or a live preview. A pack sold on a cover image alone is a gamble.

A licence that says what you may do

Personal or commercial use, one project or many, clients or not. The terms should be on the product page, in plain words.

A format you already use

Notion, Google Sheets, Figma, Shopify, plain documents: a template only saves time in the tool you already work in.

Updates when the platform changes

Themes and templates break when the platform underneath them changes. Look for a changelog or a stated update policy.
